A concept note is a preliminary document that outlines the basic idea or concept of a proposed project or methodology. The concept note serves as an initial step in the process of developing a project or methodology that can generate carbon credits.
The concept note typically includes an overview of projects, including the technology to be used and methods, and expected greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions or removals. The note also provides information on the project's potential environmental, social, and economic impacts, as well as any risks and challenges associated with the project.
The concept note is submitted to ICR, which reviews the proposal and provides feedback on the concept. Based on the feedback, the proposer may decide whether to move forward and develop a more detailed methodology and PDD.
